A Lesson to Bear in Mind

By seasideperspective

A funny thing happened this weekend. Somehow Callum managed to swallow a ball-bearing! It was a bit of a shock for all of us, not least Callum.

The good news is that the ball-bearing is back, as the picture of Callum below testifies. Not sure what to do with it now though. Perhaps we’ll keep it…..

Wow, hard to believe that size ball didn’t block and went on down. Oooh, Callum, you and Charlotte keep away from anything like that, marbles too, until you’re both a couple of years older! I remember that once upon a time, long, long ago, a much younger boy, probably half your age, unscrewed and swallowed a decorative brass ball from the corner of his cot – that too was recovered and screwed back on his bed, but much tighter this time! No pictures to prove it, I remember that was a scarey time for the family. Anyone else remember that – John??? Love GAR

I seem to remember that, over the years, I ate the whole cot. Bit by bit. It’s what gave me such an iron constitution. Swallowed ball bearings never hurt anyone. Ball bearings fired from a catapult, however, can do some real damage!
