Wilderness Wood

September 22, 2008

We had some beautiful weather this weekend – a real bonus!

Sunday we met with Joe and Trish and their two at Wilderness Wood near Tunbridge Wells. We have been there once before last November.

We had a great time, and even had a bbq (second one this year?!)

The children got on like a house on fire – not one problem all day.

Here Callum and Conor are armed with books on mushrooms in search of……mushrooms!

Joe exhausts himself pulling all four children round the BBQ

The gang.

Last Throws of Summer

September 14, 2008

This weekend was a lovely surprise – we had sunshine from Saturday morning until Sunday lunchtime – bonus!

We made the most of it by spending plenty of time outside. This afternoon we took the SSS Codfish down to the water for perhaps the last time this year.

First, we had to run through the safety briefing!

Callum (with customary face paint) went first.

Charlotte loved it. She’s the one doing her best impression of a life jacket!

Callum’s First Day at School

September 14, 2008

Callum started school on Monday and by the end of his first full week, was pretty exhausted!

Here he is, looking very grown up, on his first day!

Holiday

September 9, 2008

We all had a week off last week which we spent at home (there’s a credit crunch don’t you know!). Despite the weather we had a great week. We visited Woods Mill, Bewl Water, Chessington World of Adventures, The Rainforest Cafe in London as well as a bunch of stuff around Brighton.  Here are some of the pics…

Marion

September 8, 2008

We were lucky enough to have Marion come and stay with us for a few days at the end of August. Marion is Callum and Charlotte’s second cousin who lives in Brussels and made the journey over on the Eurostar. Callum and I met her from the train and took in some of the London sights.

And during the week we also explored a bit of Brighton.

Marion was a tremendous help with the children and a dab hand in the kitchen. The chocolate cake/desert that Marion made was absolutely fantastic!

Beachdown

The bank holiday weekend saw the first ever four day music festival in Brighton. It took place up on the South Downs which provided wonderful views of Brighton and out to sea.

As you can see, we had some pretty amazing weather. We did however, also have some pretty grim weather too, but that did not dampen the party mood.

mmmmm Breakfast. Prepared by Victoria and Hannah.

Adam hangs with the children.

Victoria enjoying the sunshine on the Saturday morning.

One of the best things about the festival was the amount of stuff for the children to do. They had bouncy castles, games, lots of creative things. And of course, pace fainting!

They even had surfing for the bigger kids!

At night the children fell asleep in the double buggy and we enjoyed some great bands – cheers!

Wedding Bells

September 8, 2008

Back in August Laura and Tony married in Richmond. It was a great wedding. Laura looked stunning, and Tony did not scrub up too bad either!

The reception was at a beautiful hotel on the Thames. All the speeches were very good, especially the best man’s. Vic sat between two frenchmen for the meal!

There was some great dancing – I’ll let you decide if these two were contenders for the title!

And….we’re back!

It has been a little while since this blog has been updated. What can I say? Life is busy and sometimes it’s good to take a break. Anyway, here’s what you missed…….
