Rainbows & Aliens

February 26, 2007

We spent the weekend in Herefordshire with Granny and Grandpa and Aunty Tessa.

Tessa and Charlotte were very coordinated!

On Saturday we got some fresh air with a short walk.

Callum decided he was on a bear hunt (we would like to thank the Singing Kettle for that) and took Granny and Grandpa with him. Luckily no bears were found!.
Although they could have easily found something else apparently!

Has Granny spotted an Alien?

On Sunday the children went to see some animals with their grandparents.

Underwater

February 25, 2007
Adam and Hannah came down last weekend and enjoyed the glorious weather.

We took the children to the Sea Life Centre which is one of Callum’s favourite places at the moment.
Especially the underwater tunnel

They have some really strange exhibits!!!!

Anyone seen my Sk8board??

When we first heard about the proposed new skate planned to be built down by the Big Fish Cafe we were none too chuffed. The main reason being that the Big Fish and the children’s’ play area next door, provides a perfect location for young families to have some fun. And of course for us, it is just at the bottom of the road.

A skate park would attract all the kind of people you don’t want in the near vicinity of a children’s’ play area – trust me I know, I used to be one!!!!

The local community set up a campaign to fight the proposals, but unfortunately the opposition was crushed and the building work has just started.

Of course now that the fight is lost and the work has started I can’t wait until its finished!!!!! I wonder if the council would consider moving the A&E department a bit closer too………..?

Shrove Tuesday

February 20, 2007

We started with the batter which was courtesy of Hugh Fernley Wittingstall

Then waited for Dan to get home to start making them

With much success!!
And yes he did “land” it!
Only one person remained unimpressed. Charlotte’s diet has not yet progressed to pancakes and maple syrup.

my husband was taken by aliens

He was just lying on the bed in Callum’s room when we became aware of a bright glow around his stomach. Gradually it engulfed his body and he was drawn out the window. Fortunately Adam was at hand with his camera.

Valentine’s day

February 15, 2007

Callum has been experiencing post Valentine’s day sugar rushes. We made buns and iced them with pink hearts and pink splodges – mainly the latter it has to be said!

Snowman

February 9, 2007

We were promised lots of snow this week, but it failed to materialise in Brighton and Hove. In fact, the lack of snow down here made the news as we were one of the only places in England not to get any!!

My parents house in Hereford however, really got a pasting!!!!

Snow really seems to bring out the child in everyone!! Seriously though Mum, Callum loved the snowman!

A Day With Daddy

February 9, 2007
Vic had a day in London on Wednesday for work so I took the day off to look after the children. We had a great day together.

The day started early as usual and the children entertained themselves as I prepared breakfast.

Charlotte after a satisfying Weetabix!

Callum doing his best ‘Bob the Builder’ impression….

The scintillating conversation on the way back from the shops was just too much for them to take!!!!!

Wasps & Butterflies

February 5, 2007

Just in case anyone needed any further proof that the weather is absolutley mad, I have seen wasps and butterflies this weekend! Personally, I hate wasps and really love the months that they are not bothering me! Oh well….

Having said that, we had a really good weekend out and about in the sunshine.

We walked along the Downs on Saturday morning with Bee and Simon and their two boys. We had lunch at the Half Moon in Plumpton which has a great big garden full of toys.
But the best toy of couse is the old tractor!!!!
